Pregnancy Journey #2 - Must Haves!

There's so much I've learned about being a mom in the past few years since having my daughter, Remi. I remember anxiously anticipating her arrival and tracking her growth very thoroughly week by week. The doctors eventually labeled me as high risk which meant extra appointments as well as several other things that heightened my anxiety of her arrival, down to her joining our family early and spending time in the NICU. Leaving her at the hospital as I was discharged was one of the hardest and scariest things I've ever done. I don't think anyone is prepared with the emotions and responsibilities that come with being a first time mom and I can truly vouch for how overwhelming it was.

Remi in the NICU- 2 days old

Thankfully, this time around I am so much less nervous. I know that the only thing I can do is prepare and take all the precautions possible to growing and delivering a healthy baby! The rest is out of my control. I am so thankful for modern medicine and amazing tools and preventatives along the way that make being a Mom during these modern days that much easier. Below are some amazing items that I have discovered this pregnancy that I wanted to share about!

Getting pregnant in the middle of a pandemic is no joke, and brings so many different elements to the table. It's truly been a totally different experience than I had with my daughter. One of the hardest aspects of it all has been going to every appointment alone. I truly felt that the ultrasounds and listening to our baby's heartbeat together was one of the most special things that helped bond me and my husband to our little girl before she was born. Doing sonograms alone and hearing our little boy's heartbeat by myself has been really hard for me to feel like my husband wasn't missing out on those same moments that we bonded over with my previous pregnancy.

That's why I love Baby Doppler's Sonoline B- Heartbeat Tracker!

This nifty device is one that makes pregnancy much less worrisome. I personally love being able to listen to the baby's heartbeat whenever I want and find it extra comforting during pregnancy for peace of mind. There is nothing sweeter than being able to hear your baby's heartbeat whenever you'd like from the comfort of your own home, especially during these times as loved ones may be missing appointments and these special moments. This heartbeat tracker comes complete with an LCD screen, and has high quality audio with great speakers. It runs off of 2- double AA batteries & has an impressive battery life of 10 hours. This tracker is sure to give you peace of mind as well as great bang for your buck at a very affordable price. Not to mention how awesome it is to have access to this at home during these unprecedented times with a spreading virus at hand.

Baby Doppler's Duosmart Ear & Forehead Thermometer

I can't tell you how many time's during motherhood that I've had to grab for our thermometer from a very young age. From teething to sicknesses that have made me book a doctors appointment it's always been so handy. It makes me so nervous to take our little one into the pediatrician especially in the middle of a pandemic. I worry about the sickness that comes along with all those big germs for our little guy. I'm all about being prepared and this Duosmart Thermometer is something that is a must have in our baby ( and toddler! ) medicine cabinet. I love that this product will be something you will be able to use and keep on hand for many years to come! This amazing tool is FDA cleared & takes temperatures from both ear and forehead for the most accurate results possible! It also comes with an app that comes with options of multiple users that you can pair to track and share temperature trends and curves. This is something I absolutely love to hand for when our doctor asks about our daughters fevers and their progression. Not to mention that it is compact and great to have for traveling or on the go!

MamaDerma Stretch Mark Cream & Prevention Oil

As a Mom, I know how easy it can be to put ourselves last. During my last pregnancy, I was really bad about remembering to put on preventative oil for stretch marks. I worked a full time job and was a full time student, and frankly it was the last thing on my mind. This time around, I have implemented using oil daily and it has made such a difference in me feeling confident that I am taking care of my skin and doing my best to prevent stretch marks as well as helps my stomach feel more comfortable through the day. I love that MamaDerma uses natural ingredients and have been clinically proven to decrease your chances of getting stretch marks compared to using other oils & creams. Mama Derma also has Stretch Mark Repair Cream, which is great for postpartum care if you happen to get stretch marks, as most moms do. It comes with a unique massaging roller head and has powerful reparative ingredients. These products are great for any mom looking to prevent or lessen the appearance of their stretch marks.

MamaDerma also carries an amazing stretch mark spray! This spray is great for larger areas that have stretch marks. The spray is proven clinically to reduce scars & flatten/ soften raised scars. It’s a great spray to grab for as it contains medical- grade silicone and is perfect for not only pregnancy related stretch marks or scarring from something such as a c- section, but also for any scars that you may have!

I am so looking forward to sharing more baby related things with you guys! I love this motherhood community online and look forward to sharing and reading all the great tips and tricks!
